Mark East is still lost in Africa!

Having had an uncomfortable déjà vu experience, listening to Mark East,  GM for M$FT’s education industry group for Africa, Middle East and Asia, based in UK, patronise us at the eLA 2013 meeting in Windhoek this week, I remembered that I had – in 2005 – reacted quite strongly to the manner in which M$FT baled out of their infamous Pathfinder project (see http://bit.ly/10DNV51).

I also recalled that I had produced an impulsive cartoon of Mark East and George Ferreira, then regional manager for M$FT in east and southern Africa  (see http://bit.ly/10DRacH), which somehow was lost 🙂 in subsequent publications – in particular an early keynote presentation to a (then mostly) north american audience of eLearning experts at Utah State University.

I could not resist sharing this today – mainly because Mark East remains a very patronising influence on Education Ministry decision-makers in Africa, the Middle East and Asea today – exemplified at #eLA2013 by the very surprising reference our Prime Minister Hage Geingob made to this 2003-2005 Pathfinder fiasco in his opening address.

Here it is –
